Gloranthan Classics?

posted Aug 08, 2012 05:52:23 by Skoll
Hi,

The Gloranthan Classics releases by Moon Design claim to be compatible with RQ6. Does anybody know what does it mean exactly? For example, have the NPC's and monsters been updated to take into account the changes in magic?

GREAT NEWS! I would say the best news since the information that RQ6 will be developed!

RuneQuest: Adventures in Glorantha (yes, it steals, shamelessly, the title of the never-published RQIV, but it has to be done). This will be a general introduction to the lozenge plus all the rules tweaks and chargen tweaks needed to play in Glorantha. And it will be 3rd Age.

Stat Packs: Probably free PDFs to accompany Moon Design's releases such as Sartar, Pavis and Harrek. Before we can release these, we need RQ:AiG.

I started a few times to do it myself, but I always stopped as I think it is quite a bunch of work and simply do not have the time to do it. However can you give us a very small hint regarding the LITTLE. Maybe the canadian season and the year?

Setting: We'll be taking a region of Glorantha and developing the bejesus out of it. Yes, we know which area. Its all agreed with Moon Design and its one Pete and I love to bits.

I heard that there were people (and cats), who died out of curiosity! Do you want to take the responsibility for that?
My first guess would be that it will be in the western part of Genertela...

Yay! Nice one Loz. <stifling a barrage of questions, requests for broad-term etas, etc>

One comment though. Since RQ6 evokes so many memories of older versions, with Anathym's saga and the mention of a certain alternative use of Halfling stats, you're going to have to offer one particular cult write-up in all the Gloranthan supplements that include game system tweaks. You know that don't you? ;-)

No we won't. In fact, we aim to buck the trend by never detailing the said cult in question, like, EVER...

Nice guesses. Both wrong, but nice guesses.

Aww, shucks Loz. You're no fun... ;-)

We'll just have to produce a fan-made one once your cult layout approach is known. After all, the Troll Mother Darkness Goddess Spirit should never be forgotten. :-D

If RQ:AiG really makes Glorantha accessible to newbies (or to those, like me, who have always been fascinated with Glorantha from the sidelines but have never taken the plunge), then you will have done the world a (another) service!

OK, then I change my bet to Teleos!
Although the Holy Country (Kethaela) would be just AWESOME!!! I've been waiting very long for a detailed Kethaela supplement with an accompanying campaign/scenarios. The region has a lot of potential, IMHO. And it would be easy to tie a Pavis/Sartar campaign to a Kethaela campaign, since both areas are adjacent... -wink, wink-. ;-D

Funnily enough, I've done some work on Teleos for 'Harrek Saga', the campaign book for Moon Design.

But its not Teleos.

Ooh! Loz didn't deny Kaethela! Do we have a winner? If it includes the whole of what was The Holy Country - plenty of cultures there...

Sorry Vaughan...

Enough idle speculation though. Its enough to say that Moon Design has certain areas that it doesn't intend to develop or revisit from earlier works; our area is one of those. We'll reveal our territory soon enough. You'll be pleased. Very pleased.
