January 2013 News

posted Jan 12, 2013 15:04:37 by lawrence.whitaker
Happy (Belated) New Year to you all.

Work continues apace on Book of Quests and Monster Island. Quests should see release in late February, with Monster Island following hot on its heels in March.

As a preview and taster of Book of Quests, we will be releasing one of the scenarios, in its entirety, free of charge. Watch this space for details.

There will also be a more traditional preview of Monster Island: sample pages in PDF, showcasing different elements of the book. Both books will be excellent additions to the RQ6 line.

Hardcover Kickstarter. We will be producing one, but its likely to be March before it is launched. The main reason for this is to concentrate on getting BoQ and MI released - both time consuming projects. Pete and I will also be having our annual summit meeting in Sweden in late February, and we want to hammer-out the KS details properly before launching it. We will also be ensuring that the errata is fully created and in place, so the summit is a good opportunity to ensure we've captured everything we need.

As ever, we're grateful for your patience and continued support.

Yes, good call, the two scenario books deliver playing enjoyment, and thus are more urgent. Hardcover is a nice extra, but we have 2 softcovers and 3 pdfs around the table already, it's not a priority. I'll get it, but to be honest, I'd be more interested in a nice, well made NPC pack for the sartar / pavis books. Those encounter descriptions are screaming for some NPC stats! They would be great to go with my almost halfway collection of miniatures for all of the encounters :)

That's great, indeed. When will preorder start?

Not until the book has been sent to the printer. That gives about 2-3 weeks before orders are then shipped. It also gives us confidence that the book IS on its way rather than sitting on pre-order funds for an extended period

Ok. So we can buy the PDF when the book is on it's way to the Printer? Oh - are there any news about the Combat App for iOS?

Yes. The PDF will be available on drivethru and via Moon Design once pre-orders for the physical copies begin.

Oh - are there any news about the Combat App for iOS?

No. Its not a huge priority and iOS development can be expensive. Sales for the Android App are okay, but not necessarily stellar, so we need to weigh-up carefully if its worth the investment.
