Gloranthan Draconic Mysticism

posted Jan 17, 2013 14:44:16 by Vistikos
Will there be documentation detailing Gloranthan Draconic Mysticism for RQ6, or is this purely a 2nd Age Mystery/Heresy?

These options aren't mutually exclusive :-)

Dragon mysticism didn't disappear with the fall of EWF. It not as widespread anymore, and quite likely not as accepted, especially if you are anywhere near Dragonpass, but Dragon Newts still exist and so does Dragon mysticism. So while we are waiting for the RQ6 Glorantha book (and I would guess that this topic won't be among the first ones to be covered), I think MRQII 2nd Age material is pretty usable.

Mmmm...

(rumours) of surviving God Learners under Ralzakark's protection in Dorastor...

Delecti, a survivor of the EWF...

Are these still canon?

Also, will Draconic Mysticism rules dovetail with RQ6 Mysticism rules?

I hoped that someone else would post this question,as I know it's somewhat contentious, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who wants to know... is there any possibility that the volume formerly known as "Tenets of the Inner Dragon" will be published in any way shape or form?

Its not contentious at all. Its a book I proposed to Mongoose and one that I would've liked to have written as part of the Second Age series. The God Learners got 'The Abiding Book' and I wanted to do a companion volume for the EWF. However, the chances of it now appearing are... remote. I won't save never, because you never know, but its become a very low priority.

In terms of RQ6 Mysticism and Dragonewts - yes, but with some additional tweaks. Much depends on the lifecycle stage because each stage gives access to different forms of magic.

That's good to know. One of our long running group was draconicly illuminated during Ian Thompson's Cradle Vualt adventure (He had a 02 percent chance and rolled a 01!) Since then the player has just gone hog wild with it. The Narrator didn't want to use the standard rune magic style so he has been using MRQII. I think he just wanted to use the MQ books he shelled bucks for. Even though my character doesn't know about the dragon in their midst it 's been fun watching him connive knowledge and training with out anyone catching on.

Whitch leads into my question: How can a human get Draconic training the the third age?
