posted Mar 20, 2013 17:51:35 by lawrence.whitaker
Book of Quests - the first Design Mechanism supplement for RuneQuest 6th Edition - is now available for pre-order: click on the Products link above to be taken to our online store. We estimate that print copies will be shipped from our warehouse at the end of March, although the PDF version of the book is available for immediate download. If you buy Book of Quests directly from us, you will be offered the PDF free of charge.

Book of Quests Print (+ free PDF) = $19.00 (+$9 shipping): 224 pages
Book of Quests PDF only = $8.00 (immediate download): 224 page (fully indexed and bookmarked)

This adventure supplement contains seven very different scenarios that can be played as a complete campaign, or as one-off adventures that should fit with most fantasy settings. Each scenario is complete with maps, diagrams, handouts and full RQ6 statistics for all the NPCs and creatures encountered.

Book of Quests offers months of play. Can the characters thwart Jedakiah's schemes? Can King Myur be saved from himself? What evil lurks in the heart of Aylesford? What secret does the mournful Contessa keep?

Find all these answers - and more, in the pages of Book of Quests.

Hello everyone.

I just bought the pdf of Book of Quests and I have ordered a copy of Runequest 6.

Looking forward to running it all. I have never ran any Runequest games before and last time I played was Chaosium 2nd Edition 30 years ago!

Anyway, the Book of Quests looks great after a quick skim through but can anybody help me out as a guide to how many characters the adventure is balanced for please?

Thanks

Welcome to RQ6 and the forums!

The default is usually for 4 to 6 pcs

Indeed, welcome.

The adventures are actually scalable according to how many are in the party. Most of the scenarios give some guidance on how many NPCs to include, and the statistics are presented in such a way that its easy for GMs to do their own scaling without too much effort.

That's brilliant news, thanks. I am going to have a proper read when I get chance. Looking at the previews, reviews and videos, I am looking forward to playing the new Runequest very much. I love the fact that I can just buy the one rulebook and I am good to go...

Skimming the adventure, it looks interesting, with some depth. I think my group will enjoy it.

Cheers!

Definitely, that 450 page RQ6 rulebook reminds of the old Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay book, only better.

Better because there's no setting in RQ6. That frees up room to really go to town on the rules, and of course, if it did come with a setting, I'm guessing it would be the magic systems that would have suffered as a result - seeing as there are four different magic systems depicted therein.

So far BoQ is great - I'm about halfway through it.
Sadly I don't think I'm gonna be able to run it for a while, unless I move it to Glorantha for my next campaign. Do-able' but unlikely in my case.

But thanks for a great supplement, I am hungry for more.

More errata:

Page 11 - Xalgith - All founding four gods already get Spirit Block as an available miracle, so it's inclusion on this list is redundant. (Should be replaced with another miracle ? All the other Foundiing Four gods provide five sub-cult specific ones...)
